BORDEAUX-MÉRIGNAC, France — In a dramatic unveiling before more than 400 customers, partners and aviation leaders gathered in a new production hall in Bordeaux-Mérignac, Dassault Aviation rolled out the Falcon 10X. As the drape lifted at 8:00 p.m. CET, the aircraft marked a bold new chapter for long-range private aviation. The rollout confirms the Falcon 10X as Dassault's flagship offering, introducing a cabin that outpaces any current rival in size, flexibility and passenger comfort.

Global Reach, Near-Supersonic Speed

The Falcon 10X will cruise at speeds approaching the sound barrier with a top speed of Mach 0.925, and has a maximum range of 7,500 nm, enabling nonstop connections between city pairs such as New York to Shanghai, Los Angeles to Sydney, São Paulo to Dubai, and Beijing to Paris.

The aircraft is powered by two Rolls-Royce Pearl 10X engines, each delivering over 18,000 pounds of thrust, and achieves a landing distance of under 2,500 feet, a short-field capability that grants access to a broader range of airports globally.

A Cabin Redefining What's Possible Inflight

The Falcon 10X's interior marks a clear departure from its predecessors. The cabin stands 6 feet 8 inches tall and 9 feet 1 inch wide, roughly 8 inches wider and 2 inches taller than any other purpose-built business jet currently flying. Cabin altitude is maintained at just 3,000 feet, the lowest on the market, and new-generation ozone and VOC filters ensure a standard of air purity that is a first in business aviation.

Buyers can configure up to four zones, incorporating options such as an expanded dining and conference area, a private stateroom with a queen-size bed, or a master suite with a stand-up shower. The baggage compartment is the largest in its class and remains accessible during flight.

Thirty-eight extra-large windows line the fuselage, nearly 50 percent larger than those on the Falcon 8X, allowing natural light through the interior.

Fighter Jet Technology, Business Jet Comfort

Dassault remains the only manufacturer in the world designing and building both advanced fighter jets and business aircraft; a cross-disciplinary advantage now directly reflected in the Falcon 10X.

An industry first, Dassault's Smart Throttle serves as the primary power control, connected to the Digital Flight Control System and linking both engines, automatically adjusting power as required. An additional protection mode, activated by a single button, stabilises the aircraft in adverse conditions.

The FalconEye combined vision system, the first to offer both enhanced and synthetic vision capabilities, combined with dual HUDs able to serve as primary flight displays, enables the aircraft to operate in essentially zero ceiling and zero visibility conditions.

What's Next

With the unveiling now complete, the Falcon 10X programme moves toward its next milestone: flight testing. Once airborne, the aircraft will begin an extensive evaluation campaign designed to validate its performance ahead of entry into service.

The aircraft carries a list price of approximately $80 million, and positions squarely against rivals including the Bombardier Global 7500 and Gulfstream G700 at the very top of the market.

"The Falcon 10X will offer an unrivalled passenger experience over both short- and long-duration flights, along with breakthrough safety features from Dassault's frontline fighter technology," said Dassault Chairman and CEO Eric Trappier in the official unveiling statement.

JETBAY's Perspective on Dassault Falcon 10X

For JETBAY clients, the Falcon 10X represents one of the most significant development in ultra-long-range private aviation in a decade. As the aircraft enters flight testing and moves toward certification, we will continue to monitor its progress and evaluate its availability for charter and acquisition.
