WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Palm Beach International Airport has officially completed its rebranding to President Donald J. Trump International Airport, ushering in a coordinated update of location codes across global aviation networks.
The official name change took effect on July 9, 2026, following Florida state legislation signed by Governor Ron DeSantis. Owned and operated by Palm Beach County, the facility’s physical infrastructure, flight routes, and air traffic operations remain unchanged. Official guidance from the Palm Beach County Department of Airports confirms that the initiative is an administrative rebrand rather than an operational restructuring.
For private jet charterers, corporate travel managers, and flight departments, the primary shift involves the technical transition from the legacy "PBI" location identifier to new aviation system codes.
While flight operations continue without interruption, dispatch teams and travel coordinators should verify documentation to prevent ground transportation or routing confusion.

Technical identifier transition schedule
Physical updates to airfield signage, terminal branding, and highway way-finding began following the July 9 effective date.
For flight operations and booking platforms, the transition follows a two-tier schedule:
The distinction between these identifiers is critical for charter logistics. Flight crews, dispatchers, and air traffic controllers utilize FAA and ICAO codes for flight briefs and navigation. Consumer travel software and flight trackers rely on the three-letter IATA code.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) directed certificated air carriers and general aviation operators to update internal documentation and operating certificates. Because flight dispatch systems adopted KDJT in July, private charter manifests may display the new code before consumer flight-tracking applications complete their updates.
Private aviation operations and FBO facilities
General aviation access at the airport remains fully operational. Air traffic control, runway availability, and port-of-entry services continue under standard procedures.
Private jet arrivals operate through three dedicated Fixed-Base Operators (FBOs) located on airport grounds, operating independently of the main commercial terminal:
- Atlantic Aviation
- Jet Aviation
- Signature Aviation
These facilities maintain standalone operations, including dedicated U.S. Customs and Border Protection clearance, private passenger lounges, and direct tarmac vehicle access.
Fees and rates
Airport authorities confirmed that the rebrand introduces no new passenger fees, landing tariff adjustments, or facility surcharges. Standard charter pricing factors, including aircraft category, positioning distance, crew duty limits, and fuel requirements, remain the primary variables for flights serving West Palm Beach.

Operational protocol for travel managers
During the dual-code transition period, corporate flight departments and travel managers should observe five core protocols:
Account for system updates
1. Cross-reference airport codes
Search utilizing both DJT and West Palm Beach across charter software and booking platforms.
Confirm facility matching
2. Verify location identifiers
Confirm that references to PBI, KPBI, DJT, or KDJT point to the same physical airport facility.
Prevent ground transport misdirection
3. Specify the FBO terminal name
Explicitly list the specific FBO terminal (e.g., Jet Aviation Palm Beach) on passenger briefs. Chauffeurs dispatched simply to "DJT Airport" risk arriving at the commercial passenger terminal rather than the general aviation facility.
Direct address verification
4. Reconfirm chauffeur pickups
Verify physical street addresses directly with the designated FBO facility prior to departure.
Post-transition maintenance
5. Update internal flight records
Revise saved passenger profiles, flight templates, and system notes following the August 18 IATA code shift.
To ensure clear communication across manifests and passenger briefs, industry guidelines recommend listing both designations:
"President Donald J. Trump International Airport (formerly Palm Beach International) — Codes: DJT / KDJT."
Status of active charter bookings
Confirmed private jet charters do not require re-issuance or modification due to the name change. The physical destination and operating certificates remain identical.
While flight management software updates across operators, earlier charter contracts may display "KPBI," whereas active flight manifests display "KDJT." This variation reflects system timing rather than an operational rerouting.
